Hospital stay/movie night/boy's visit

Jaden had a great time with Jordan & Josh coming to visit! It always makes him happy to see them, and it was a good time for Dylan to get some "fellow brother" time!! They all had a blast!!

We went to stay at a downtown Nashville hotel, almost across from Vanderbilt the night before Jaden had to go back into the hospital. Our main purpose was to be able to watch movies that are not out on DVD yet... since Jaden can't go to the movies. He got to watch:

Iron Man (Wonderful movie!!)

Indiana Jones (Loved it!!...could have done without the aliens ;-)~

Kung fu Panda (I recommend this movie to everyone!!!)

We had a nice stay, and got a discount for the room from Vanderbilt. Jaden really enjoyed himself, and that was the whole reason for going early!! Well, it also helped to be there already for our 8:30am appointment. LOL!

Also, please pray about our Ronald McDonald house situation... they are so busy that we can't seem to get a room lately!! arggggggg!!! Makes things a bit harder!

New news...

Greg is doing fine, and we hope that he may be coming home soon to run Rear D. He will be in a First Sargent Slot, and we hope to get his Master Sargent with this assignment as well. We will see what happens... God is in control!

Greg had lost/had stolen his wallet... it was missing for almost two weeks. Yesterday Greg wrote to me that an NCO had found it among some personal effects he had inventoried. Praise the Lord!! Greg had $400 cash in his wallet to get him through months of a deployment, it was all still in the wallet...Wow!! God is good!!!

It is really hard to deal with everything alone... however; God has given all of us his grace to get through it all! I trust God to lead us... if we would only follow!!

Jaden seemed stronger than ever, and his hair even seemed to be growing back in... but now that we are in-hospital getting chemo, Jaden is really down and out. His hair is rapidly falling out, and he had a allergic reaction to something today... we don't know exactly what yet. I will keep everyone up to date as much as possible. Lately it has been hard to find time to get online.... so much to do, so little time!

The Doctors are about to make rounds again... so I will post again soon! Thank you for your continued prayers for Jaden!! God bless you!!!

Never blow off even one day...

This is a pic of Jaden in Germany, 2004...we often never even think twice about how healthy our children are ever day!

The second pic is Jaden this month (Month 5, of 15 monts of heavy chemo)... it breaks my heart when I look back and see his wonderful color... and vibrance!

Will I ever see my baby healthy again? There is nothing I can do but pray, and put this in God's hands.

Kiss, hug, squeeze your kids today... don't let even one day blow by without thanking God for your children!!

LETTER FROM GREG: 08-14-08

Last night we were looking for bad guys who had a canon in the back of there truck. We never found them…that stunk. I hope we get them tonight.

The new thing here is that I work in the office during the day, and at night I go out with what's called the Quick Reaction Force (QRF). So when we get hit or something outside the wire; that needs to be addressed, the QRF is called to go out and kick aXX and take names. I'm glad I'm on that team!

The only thing that scares me there is that you could possibly run over a pressure plated mine, in which there is no defense.

WE HAVE HAD SO MANY VISITORS HERE AT VANDERBILT... ONE SURPRISE WAS J.P. DUMONT #71. JADEN, DYLAN, AND ALAINA ALL GOT SIGNED PHOTOS, AND CARDS. ALAINA HAS SKATED WITH HIM ON WEDNESDAY'S "SKATING WITH THE PREDATORS" AT THE SPORTSPLEX... AND WAS HAPPY TO SEE HIM AGAIN!

J.P. WAS REALLY NICE! WE HOPE TO ATTEND SOME OF THE 41 HOME GAMES THIS YEAR. CAN'T WAIT!!!

We had the best group come here to Vanderbilt!!! They are called THE STANDARDS, and they are so refreshing to hear sing!! True musicians, these men give a breathtaking show!! Look them up on their site above, or check out their Christmas music spacial on you-tube below.

The brothers thought Alaina was so cute, and Nathan said we should get Nic to teach Jaden how to "beatbox"... the kids just love this!! It is such a wonderful ministry these young men have, and such clean, lovely, enjoyable music as well!!

All of us here at Vanderbilt can't wait till they come back to Nashville on tour!! :)
