Dylan's 15th Birthday! Dec. 7th

We had a wonderful weekend (Dec. 12-14) with Jordan & Josh. It was Dylan's 15th birthday, and we had a great time at a local Mexican restaurant. Dylan loved his princess cake...LOL! We always do a silly cake for the "teen years"...Jordan got a Hanna Montana cake, and Josh got Strawberry Shortcake. They love it, and brag on them often. Most of all it is a fun memory for us in this time of trial.

Thank you again for all your prayers for Jaden here at Vandy, and Greg over in Afghanistan. We took Jaden back to Vandy yesterday for a blood transfusion.
(His counts were really low!!) He seems to be better today, but we are still praying for no fever until our next admittance. God willing...we will be home for Christmas.

May God bless you richly this Christmas season!!

A Christmas prayer for all....

Dear Lord,
I thank You for this day,
I thank You for my being able to see
and to hear this morning.
I'm blessed because You are
a forgiving God and
an understanding God.

You have done so much for me
and You keep on blessing me.
Forgive me this day for everything
I have done, said or thought
that was not pleasing to you.

I ask now for Your forgiveness.
Please keep us all safe
from danger and harm.

Help me to start this day
with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.
Let me make the best of each and every day
to clear my mind so that I can hear from You.

Please broaden my mind
that I can accept all things.
Let me not whine and whimper
over things I have no control over.
And give me the best response
when I'm pushed beyond my limits.

I know that when I can't pray,
You listen to my heart.
Continue to use me to do Your will.
Continue to bless me that I may be
a blessing to others.

Keep me strong that I may help the weak...
Keep me uplifted that I may have
words of encouragement for others.
I pray for those that are lost
and can't find their way.

I pray for those that are misjudged
and misunderstood.
I pray for those who
don't know You intimately.
I pray for those that don't believe.
But, I thank You Lord... that I believe
that God changes people,
and God changes things.
I pray for all my sisters and brothers in Christ,
And I pray for each and every family member
in their households.

I pray for peace, love, and joy
in their homes; that they are out of debt
and all their needs are met.

I pray that every eye that reads this
knows there is no problem, circumstance,
or situation greater than God.

Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.
I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them...
in Jesus' name.
Amen!

I forgot...oops!!! MY BAD! :)

We were in the hospital, and got out on Sunday the 23rd of November. Monday we went to Indy to visit Janey, and stayed quarantined in the house. (If anyone was even around someone sick within the past 7 days, they were not allowed to come for turkey because of Jaden.) Then we went to Dad's the next Saturday...same rules applied. Jaden couldn't go anywhere...but it was nice to see family. He wasn't nutropenic at the time...I forgot to put that in there!

When we got back home on Sunday night, then re-packed to come into the hospital Monday morning (Dec. 1st) for a spinal and 3 different kinds of chemo. Now we get to go home today (Friday Dec. 5th) for almost three weeks. This will be one of the longest times we are home. Jaden has to take Neupogen shots to build up his blood counts this trip home....and come back in to Vandy during our "time at home" for blood transfusions, counts, checkups, and of course any illness or fever!! However; I love that we will be home over Christmas!!!! LOVE IT!!!!

It has been crazy!! The hospital pictures are of him on a closed unit here in the Hematology floor. Jaden has come to love his yo-yo!! LOL!! We encourage him to move around and stay active, but only one the floor where germs are kept at a minimum!! Sorry that I forgot to put in all the "update" info when I added all the Holiday pics... I must be having a Blond moment! LOL!

We hope you all have had a wonderful Holiday, and pray that we get to visit with more Friends and Family soon!

Back at the Hospital again....

We are back at the hospital again for yet another round of chemo. We got to take some pictures with one of our favorite Doctors, and with Rhonda and Art (service dog) when we got here. Things are going good so far this visit; Praise God!!

The Standards are coming back to Vanderbilt on Monday for a concert....and Jaden, Alaina, Dylan, Mom, and myself are so excited!! I will be sure to upload some pics of them, and maybe a video if I can figure that out. LOL! I will get Dylan to help...LOL!
God bless!

Day after Thanksgiving-Thanksgiving at Dad's :)

The kids loved to visit with Grandpa and Grandma Susan!! It was great to be with all the grand kids together on this special Holiday! It was one of the first times we were all together at one time! We are all looking forward to the next big Holiday together!!

After Dinner Dylan went to listen to Jake play base at a Christian Rock concert. He loved it!! What a blessing!!! Way to go Jake!! When he got home Dad taught him some rifts on the guitar, and we all watched a movie.

Thanksgiving at Aunt Janey's :)

We had the best time at Aunt Janey's for the Holiday!! The kids had a blast, and me and Janey got to catch up with each other. The whole family came over for Turkey day, and we all enjoyed a moist 19 lb turkey. Yummy!! I want seconds!! Jaden really enjoyed the day.

Really neat...we came home with an extra member of the family! A new kitten named "Indy". He is a real doll, and Jaden fell in love with him right away!!
Hope all your turkey-days were blessed!!

Matthew Litchfield

Dear Matthew,
We will always remember your presence when we walk the hospital floor... you strength, how much your family loved you, and your fight for life!! May you rest now with our Lord in Heaven...while we find comfort in knowing you are joyful, and without pain.

May knowing that you are in God's care bring comfort to all those who loved you Matthew... God, we ask you to grant each loved one grace and peace to get through each day!

Jaden in the sun...

Jaden warmed himself in the sun today...I thought that he seemed angelic as he rested in the dining room. I was amazed at the glow that seemed to come off Jaden...there is no special filter on the camera.

Please continue to pray for Jaden, as we have a spinal tap early tomorrow morning. Praying all things go well!

Also; please pray for Greg in Afghanistan...it is hard for him to be away from Jaden right now. It is hard for him to be seperated from all the kids...but harder durring this trial. May God bless all those who serve for our Country!!

Working towards the finish line!!

We are ever working twards the finish line... slow but sure...steady but tried and true! Praise the Lord for Vanderbilt, and the staff there!! Please continue to pray for Jaden, as we hit the last 8 months of Chemo. We are praying that we will not have to do a bone marrow transplant when he reaches the 15th month of treatment...God willing!

Special:

I ask each of you to say a special prayer for the Litchfield family, and for Matthew! This is the child they did the Poker Run for last year... and things are not good now for him. Jeff (Dad) looked so tired at the hospital; however, he was holding up for what seems like the worst thing a parent could face!

May God comfort them, and suppyly abundant grace to get through this trial...whatever the outcome may be. God is in control, and he never takes home a child of His before their time. Praise God for the time Matthew has had with his family, friends, and fellow Christians. May his life be a witness to you Oh Lord, and may we rejoyce in the memories of him!

God bless!

Sept 27th

WE are back here at Vanderbilt...so far so good! Please continue to pray for Jaden, we still have a long road ahead of us. At times; it seems like a tremendous task... other times I just don't think about it!! We trust that God won't give us more than we can handle!!

Thank you for your continued support, and prayers!!

BACH- hospital visits

These are a couple of the wonderful nurses here at BACH Army Hospital (Rosa & Holly)...they help us with Jaden's blood test. Everyone in the Young Eagles Clinic always welcomes us with a smile, and friendly greeting! I didn't get a pic of Jaden with Dr. Wolf yet... but I will tag him next time! LOL! Jaden has really come to know, and trust these nurses over the past 7 months. Praise God for their dedication to their field!!

Hospital stay Sept.

Jaden is back in the hospital... but not for chemo this time. We went in for admittance on Wednesday, and his blood count was to low. So we did a Echo Gram and blood work... then went home. WELL... Thursday Jaden had a fever of 103.1, so we ended up back in the hospital on major antibiotics. Jaden is kind of like a full blown aids patient right now, and could end up in alot of hot water if an infection got out of control in his body. We are waiting for his nutra counts to come up... he needs to be at 500 or above to go home. Right now Jaden is at 50, which is up from 20 Wednesday.

Thank you for your prayers!!

God bless!

Heather

PS: These are some of our favorite nurses, both are wonderful! Edita is from Europe, and Jaden thinks that is really cool!! ;-)~
