Jaden looking at the Front page of The Eagle Post... he is so excited!!!
Jaden loved seeing Eden's Crash and himself on the front page. He is so excited!!! With this image of him God has reminded me... while we have those we love in our lives, we should treasure every minute God has given us with them. I thank my Lord and Savior for the blessings he has given me and my family!!!
Thank God for your blessings today...

Dinner & fun with Eden's Crash
We all had a wonderful dinner with Eden's Crash members Dustin, Marcus, and Wes. Me & the kids also enjoyed listening to the guy's wonderful vocal skills on Guitar Hero. lol! We usually don't get such talented partners on the X-box.
All of us are looking forward to having them back again for a visit!
God bless

We had the best time with Eden’s Crash and the press Monday the 18th. We all met at the Viceroy in Oak Grove, KY around 1pm… I got lost. LOL! The ladies from Oak Grove Tourism Facilities, and reporter Rachel Vickery (The Eagle Post), and Lee Erwin (News/Community Service Director for Q108-Z97.5-BEAVER- Sports Radio 540- Eagle 94.3-JOY1370) came out to meet us at the Viceroy.
It was a good day for Jaden; he found energy to actually run around in the grass. Later he was so tired, that he slept the rest of the evening. It was wonderful to see him outside, and smiling.
Not many people realize how quarantined he is… and how different his life is from other “healthy” children. There are so many things Jaden can’t eat, touch, do, or be around. Example: At the benefit concert Jaden will not be allowed to walk around the festive seating area. There will be potentially 5000 people there at any given time, and that is just too many germs to risk. If he gets a cold… he could die! It isn’t worth the risk of killing your child, so he can have fun walking around.
Sometimes it is hard to say “NO!”
However; many good things came about Monday at the Viceroy. We got to spend some time with reporters, and the members of Eden’s Crash. The guys (Dustin, Marcus, & Wes) are wonderful, and very talented! (Check out the "Eden's Crash" Myspace page) We look forward to hearing their music at the concert, and working with them.
Thank you and God bless!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hopkinsville Fraternal Order of Eagles to Announce Jaden Willhite Diabetes Research Center Benefit Concert
11-year-old leukemia patient and diabetic offered idea as thank you to the Eagles
Hopkinsville, KY (May 13, 2009) – The Hopkinsville Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.) #3423 announce the Jaden Willhite Diabetes Research Center Benefit Concert on Monday, May 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the Viceroy Theater in Oak Grove.
Jaden Willhite, 11-year-old leukemia patient and diabetic, was last year’s recipient of the Hopkinsville Eagles Poker Run for terminally ill children. Willhite wanted to thank the Eagles for their $31,000 donation by helping fundraise for the International Eagles’ Diabetes Research Center .
From Willhite’s heart, the inaugural Jaden Willhite Diabetes Research Center Benefit Concert was created.
“Jaden is so appreciative of the generous donation and support the Eagles provide him as he fights for his life,” said Heather Willhite, Jaden Willhite’s Mother and Co-chairman of the Diabetes Research Benefit Concert. “This is a small way he can give to them.”
The Jaden Willhite Diabetes Research Center Benefit Concert will be held on June 20 beginning at noon. The concert is open to the public. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under. In a unanimous decision by more than 700 voting Fraternal Order of Eagle delegates from across the United States and Canada , the Eagles decided to partner with The University of Iowa in a five year, $25 million fundraising project that will culminate with The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center at The University of Iowa.
The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center will be a dedicated center for diabetes research within the Institute for Biomedical Discovery Building at The University of Iowa. Money fundraised by the Fraternal Order of Eagles will go directly to medical research.

Please, pray for Jaden!
Jaden went to the hospital on his last Chemo treatment with his Dad. That was the first time; in 15 months, that I hadn't gone with him. It was hard for me, and for Jaden. However, homeschool is behind... and I needed some rest and time to catch up.
We had family in from out of town, and that was nice. Dinner at Grammy DD's, and catching up on old times. Both last weekend, and this has been loaded with family visits. Love to say hello, hard to say goodbye!
The only upsetting news we got... was that Jaden's treatment has been extended for another 5 months. We can't do radiation until we get done with these next months, and see where his Philadelphia Chromosomes are. Right now, Jaden's chromosomes are not where the Doctors had hoped they would be. So, we pray... and then pray some more. After we get done with radiation, we do the marrow transplant. Then we still have 3 more years of maintenance chemo, and scheduled stays in the hospital... not to mention infections and fever.
God has the plan!! Pray that we can walk the path he has set before us, without tripping to many times!! Jaden is in good spirits, and the benefit concert this June 20th will be a joyous time for all of us. Hope to see you there!!!
Love in Christ
Heather
