Put your best foot forward!!!

Put your best foot forward!! That is the attitude around here...LOL! We never knew he had such big feet!

One of the drugs Jaden gets for cancer is Vincristine. This drug makes Jaden feel like his feet are on fire. We often see J.P. with his feet out like this... "cooling off"! They have been giving him an antidote for this lately, and it helps alot.

Keep praying for us here... Jaden is in God's hands!

Good news

The Doctors said that Jaden's lower intestine was inflamed... but that his spleen is fine. Praise God!!! We are so happy to hear that, thank you for your prayers!

Jaden has a headache today, and is feeling "yucky" from the chemo. We expect this, and just praise God that he isn't vomiting today thus far.

Jaden got a few gifts today in the mail, and is having a wonderful time playing with all the stuff that was sent to him. Thank you so much for the nice cards, toys, and snacks you all have sent Jaden!! It really brightens up his day to get something in the mail, and homemade cards are his favorite kind.

God bless you!

Jaden getting his Cat Scan today... brave little trooper!

CT scan

Hello all... today Jaden had a Cat scan to look at his spleen. They are not sure if he has a "real" problem or not. We will know some results tomorrow, after the Doctors get a good look at his results. Please continue to pray for Jaden!!

Good news... Jaden seems to be eating more, and keeping it down. He is being such a little trooper with everything! All the nurses are bragging on how well he does with his procedures. Today they had to stick him twice to get a central line in... and he didn't even complain. What a brave little one he is... his testimony is great for the Lord!

Major Wolf came to see Jaden today(Dr. from base that finally helped us!!), and played a game of chess with him. Jaden really liked the visit, and was happy to be challenged in a game. :) Jaden loves all the cards and gifts you all have been sending... Thank you!!!

The new drug

I have new info on the drug "Gleeveck"... I think we may have the spelling right. LOL! Our good friend's Kelly and Steve over in New York brought us this gleam of hope today! Kelly has an uncle that has Leukemia with the Philadelphia Chromosome. He works at at drug research company, and has taken Gleeveck for the past 7 years... he is still in remission to this day!! He has to take the drug... but, it is working!! Praise the Lord!! WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH THIS NEWS!!
THANKS KELLY!!!!!!! YOU MADE OUR DAY MORE BEAUTIFUL!!

Other news:
Jaden had a rough night with the side effects of the cancer drugs, and his port cath is giving the nurses heck. So, we got to sleep around 4 am. LOL! Jaden's diabetes is finally getting under control, as we are basing his meal units on his carb intake now. He is still on the Lantus (Long acting insulin), and takes a slide scale with his meals.

Thank you so much for the cards, gifts, and for the prayers!!
Praise the Lord for His mercy, and for His strength!

Bone Marrow Transplant

We have found that we are not a match for Jaden's bone marrow. The Doctor said he wanted to try a new drug called Glecuqz (spelling) that would help to fix Jaden's white blood cells. We are trying to get rid of the abnormal Philadelphia Chromosome in Jaden... the one that will allow a relapse of the leukemia. Please pray that this line of treatment works. It will be implemented during the second Consolidation of Chemo, that is around six weeks from now. Last ditch effort is a non-family bone marrow match. They say it may be the only hope for a cure.

Thank you for your prayers, and your support!

Day 9

Well folks it looks like Heather and I have things well in Hand. The Lord has allowed us to move into the Ronald McDonald House, and He has provided plenty of Food in that house. It is about 5 blocks from the Hospital so it is in walking distance but if walked it would take to much time so we still drive back and fourth, to save time.

There are laundry facilities that we can use at the Hospital and at the house. This morning for breakfast ladies from the Victory Church here in Nashville brought lots of food, and as I was putting the food up after they had left it had accord to me that there was more than enough food for to more breakfasts. The Lord definitely has provided and I'm sure He will continue to do so.

Jaden is restless right now I'm trying to get him to eat his lunch but he complains his stomach hurts. It’s an on going battle that the doctors are fighting, and they are fighting with all types of chemicals in Jaden's body. Against a foe that I can only pray they know well enough to kill and keep at bay for the rest of his life.

Other than that Heather and I have split up into two teams as there can only bee two visitors with Jaden at a time. I have taken Alaina as my partner and Heather has Taken Dylan. Heather will pretty much sleep at the hospital and I at the house. Depends on how she feels and if she needs to get away.

New news

Well folks,

The doc's came in today and told us that Jaden has something wrong with his Philadelphia chromosome. That being the case Jaden will need a bone marrow transplant. So starts the search for a match. We will all get blood test and I'm hopefull there will be a match in one of us.

One more thing this will change other than the way we treat his acute lymphoblastic leukemia is that we have now set on our table to think about is the Ronald McDonald House. Since the information about the chromosome the Doc's will now take Jaden off of the current study that he is on and move him into a more intense treatment. Staying at the house looks to be a good Idea, and we will move in as there is an opening, bringing Alaina and Dylan to come stay at the house. This would greatly raise there moral and understanding in all that has happend to there brother.

Whats Up With Jaden

Well guys... what's up right right now is Jaden has High Risk Acute Limphoblastic leukemia. Today we found out that Jaden is also a diabetic... could be sickness induced. Pray on that situation please?

All the test are in, and he has a type B ALL leukemia. The good kind; as they say... the other kind is AML its the worst of the two. So; Just let me open this blog with praising the Lord, saying that even in our time of sickness... God is mercifull and gracious!

We are strong in the Faith deliverd once, and for all people. Jaden will be fine no matter what happens to him. He is a Christian (The fruit is plain to see) and a wonderfull boy. He is our special little guy! There was and still is a repenting from sin, and turning to Christ with his whole life.

Bear with us as this will be slow at first putting out information, please pray fist of all and know that God is working in our life at a level we have never experanced before.
